Welcome to Elavon EPOS. You are just a few steps away from being ready to accept card payments.
Connect the power cable to the terminal USB port, this is located on the left side of the terminal, below the volume buttons.
Lift the protruding tab with the NFC logo on it.
Open the compartment and remove the empty roll, ensure the logo side is not facing the terminal.
Insert the open roll in the compartment.
Ensure that the paper is sticking up above the terminal.
Hold the paper in place, close to the compartment.
Close the compartment (there will be a click noise when closed) and tear off the excess paper.
Note: Tear off a complete turn of the paper to avoid printing on the adhesive residue.
The card PAN and expiry date and the 3-digit security code (from the back of the card) should be entered.
If the terminal is DCC enabled, the terminal will dial to the Elavon host for the latest exchange rates and will display the DCC conversion.
The cardholder can accept DCC by selecting the flag of their currency.
The cardholder can reject DCC by selecting the flag of the merchant’s currency.
Cancel the transaction by pressing the red cancel button.
The transaction will display a screen displaying the terminal dialing to the Elavon host for approval. The terminal will display transaction approved when the approval has been received.
If Visa Multisensory or MasterCard Sonic are enabled the terminal will display the
sounds and animation for Visa & MC approvals.
Present the card to receive the refund using the available payment methods.
Contactless – Tap card or device.
Insert Card – insert card into the chip and pin reader at the bottom of the device. Cardholder to enter PIN if requested.
Swipe Card – swipe card into the card reader at the side the device.
Manual Entry – press the manual entry icon and enter the card PAN and expiry date when prompted. Note – it could be necessary to swipe up on the payment screen to access the manual entry icon.
Payment with Gratuity: tap on the slide to turn tips on and off. Green indicates Payment with Gratuity is turned on.
% Gratuity percentage: turn on and off percentage tips by tapping the box beside the option. The tick indicates it is turned on. The percentage amounts in the red boxes will be offered during the transaction.
Custom: turn on custom percentage gratuity by selecting the Custom tick box, this will allow the user to input a preferred percentage amount for the gratuity.
Customize Values: change the default percentage values option by changing the percentage amounts in the customize values fields above. The % amounts can be customized by inputting new values in the white boxes under the customize values heading, tap in each box to bring up the keypad. NOTE: The Custom box must be ticked to enable this feature.
Gratuity amount: this option will allow the user to input a preferred gratuity amount during the transaction.
If both gratuity percentage and gratuity amount are selected the user can choose to add a gratuity by percentage of the sale amount or add their own gratuity amount during the transaction.
Visually impaired mode: Visually impaired mode provides support to visually impaired users by provided audible instructions during the transaction.
Note: The terminal will automatically connect to the strongest available network that is saved.
